What can I use on a wooden bird house to keep it from weathering?

It is made out of wood and painted but I want it to last awhile and dont want the rain to rot it. What can i use and how much does it cost?

Spray it with a clear acrylic spray paint. Use several light coats. Make sure it is clean and dry before painting. They also sell a UV poly in a spray can which should protect it against the elements. These tend to yellow in the sunlight so if there is any white in the color use the acrylic.
