What is a good gift for an Egyptian family?

I will be traveling to Egypt and having diner in an Egyptian home. I understand it is customary to give a small gift to the host family, maybe something from your own country. What is an appropriate gift to give? I'm from the US.

Actually yeah, this is a difficult question, and if you bring something, don't bring something Egyptian, bring something American, like for instance I dunno, a small Statue of Liberty of something.

Like let's say it was the opposite, and the Egyptian family was going to your house, would you expect them to bring you something American or Egyptian? Something Egyptian of course, so the same, American coming to Egypt, bring something American.
